Love at First Sip: Grasshopper
Creme de Menthe is one of those liqueurs that I shied away from, mainly because I was scared of it. The minty flavoring and the green hue really made me squirm. But then I found the Grasshopper and it was love at first sip.
The grasshopper was created by Philip Guichet in New Orleans. Although it was widely popular in the '50s and '60s and has since gone out of style. It reminds you of a peppermint patty and can be a wonder dessert cocktail or after dinner cocktail. I usually sip mine in the fall and winter months but feel free to sip all year round.
